MISSION STATEMENT NJCCR is a non-profit membership organization established to focus on the rights of children to have a meaningful relationship with both parents. NJCCR is staffed and operated by members from all walks of life who share a common goal of minimizing the destructive influence of (family break up) on children. NJCCR was originally organized in 1988 to address concerns regarding, lack of access to, the non-custodial parent for children of separation or divorce. Today, NJCCR has evolved to become a coalition of non custodial men and women, husbands and wives, grandparents and concerned individuals, who care about children's needs and rights to enjoy and benefit from having equal access to both parents and stepparents. As an affiliate chapter of the Children's Rights Council (CRC) in Washington, D.C., the NJCCR is currently working toward alleviating the negative affects of changes in the American family structure by educating and helping children and families facing alternate living situations. Divorce is a complex process unfortunately controlled by our judiciary system, where individuals in many cases have little or no input, even though it will forever change their lives. Individuals that are supposed to be helped by the system are often left out of the decision process and handed standard "solutions" that can damage the parent/child relationship by ignoring existing laws for reasons of expedience and convenience. Membership is open to both men and women and we encourage the participation of fathers, mothers, grandparents, stepparents and extended families and friends. |
